Since recently we constantly hear about Indian actors, men around 40 succumbing to cardiac arrest. These cases must be more common. What do you believe is the cause?
Good question. I've been hearing about this in the news. Genetics could be in some cases, but cannot rule out environmental factors like recreational drug use.
Is there an existing database or catalog of non-coding variants associated mendelian disease? Is there an easy way to search OMIM for these (if they're even in OMIM)?
OMIM documents both coding and noncoding variants. But noncoding causes for Mendelian diseases are very few and recent, so it might get some time to see them updated in OMIM.
